Manchild at Play: Arkham City Clayface

In my quest to buy every single action figure DC Collectibles pumps out that’s based around the Batman “Arkhamverse” video games, I have so far managed to buy a giant alligator man, a steroid Joker and a colossal zombie. When Solomon Grundy turned up in the mail, I joked that the only way they could go any bigger was if they decided to make Clayface who was (SPOILERS! Highlight the following to reveal) the surprise last boss in Batman: Arkham City, after it turns out that he’s been masquerading as the Joker for most of the game (click here to see a spoileriffic video of that).

Then DC Collectibles announced that they were making Clayface, and he would indeed be bigger than Solomon Grundy.

I placed the pre-order over a year ago and he finally arrived last month. I’m glad to say that it was worth the wait, and he is surprisingly detailed for a man made out of clay. They have added some ice to his back for a bit of colour (freezing being the means of defeating him) and there are some cool alternative hands and a swappable head1. There’s some real weight to the figure, and it’s a marvellous addition to the collection.

  1. It’s more of a headpiece that clips over the other but you catch my drift.
